If you would like to download the Course Review chapter (Quiz) to evaluate whether it achieves the standards you would expect click here. We think you will find that even your most experienced system programmers will find it difficult to achieve a score of 100%, so perhaps you might purchase the class for a variety of skill levels as a fast path reminder/update on what's been happening to CICS over the years.
What is available?
The entire course may be purchased on the web and either downloaded directly or shipped on CD-Rom.
Each copy will be licensed to a given student's machine only. On the first use you will have to register the product and receive an enabling key via e-mail.
A Network version of the class can be supplied on a single CD-Rom licensed for a purchased number of student users. This is a most cost effective way of training many of your personnel from a server over your Intranet. Volume license purchasing offers considerable savings over supplying students with their own machine copy. Please e-mail for prices on this option
Course Author
The course author is Jamie Tracey. He has worked with all aspects of CICS for almost 30 years now. Jamie was a National Systems Engineer with Amdahl Corp. working in Britain, Scandinavia and Amdahl HQ in Sunnyvale Ca. USA. His responsibilities at Amdahl as a CICS Specialist were consulting to Amdahl's customers and prospective customers; teaching Amdahl's CICS Internals class; supporting Regional Systems Engineers; and working in Sunnyvale on CICS emulation under Amdahl's then 'future operating system' called 'Aspen'.
After working with Amdahl for 8 years he joined Circle Computer Group Ltd (UK) where he was a senior lecturer/consultant and was one of the founders of Circle US now in New Jersey and still holds the role of President.
He left Circle UK 4 years ago and formed Shoshone Computing Limited in the UK however his links with Circle USA continue through course development and course delivery via Circle USA and IBM to some of the world's largest corporations.
Hopefully this pedigree will assure you of the currency, quality and accuracy of the information this class conveys.
Finally, this class is a distillation of the typical information required to kick start a career in CICS. It should be a valuable foundation for taking our follow on instructor led classes, or as a quick catch-up for experienced CICS people.
